Finnish BBQ huts have their history in Arctic Lapland where the nomadic Saami reindeer herdspeople lived in them. These earliy huts were covered in Reindeer hides, the solid wooden BBQ huts are the modern derivative.
"Hut" is really not a word to do this amazing building justice! You really have to step inside to appreciate the huge feeling of space - they are often called lodges! The rather small looking outside is terribly deceptive and the most commonly heard comment upon sitting down is "Wow, It's like a Tardis"!
Grillikota Finnish BBQ huts comfortably seats 15, and also sleep 3 adults on fold out beds, and you can squeeze two kids in between!
These sturdy "huts" are crafted to a very high standard in Northern Finland and are fully double glazed. Made from solid 40mm thick timbers the lodge is 3.9m across the points and 3m high. It is also available as a sauna or hot-tub.
