Grillikota! - Finnish BBQ Huts
Grillikota Finnish BBQ huts create a delightful and mysterious atmosphere in which to dine. Close your eyes and you could almost be in Lapland..
This wonderful garden lodge adds a touch of mystery and magic to any gathering - winter barbecues, childrens' parties, even Sunday breakfast.
In summertime the huts offer a cosy and warm retreat when the evening turns chilly, and are a perfect fallback when your friends turn up for your long-planned BBQ and the great British weather does its usual trick!
In the Winter it's an idyllic escape from the elements. Just light the fire, sit back and let the wind blow outside..
History: BBQ huts have their roots in Arctic Lapland where the nomadic Saami reindeer herdspeople lived in them. These early huts were covered in Reindeer hides, the solid wooden huts are the modern derivative.
However "Hut" is really not a word to do this amazing building justice! You really have to step inside to appreciate the huge feeling of space - they are often called lodges. The rather small looking outside is terribly deceptive and the most commonly heard comment upon sitting down is "Wow, It's like a Tardis"!
Grillikota Finnish BBQ huts comfortably seat 15, and also sleep 3 adults on fold out beds, and you can squeeze two kids in between!
These sturdy buildings are crafted to a very high standard in Northern Finland and are fully double glazed. Made from solid 40mm thick timbers the lodge is 3.9m across the points and 3m high. It is also available as a sauna or hot-tub.
